KOM Obtains Summary Disposition On Shareholder Agreement Dispute
In a shareholder dispute involving Kupelian Ormond & Magy, P.C.’s clients, Douglas M. Chapman obtained summary disposition in Oakland County Circuit Court. KOM’s client and several current shareholders were sued by a former shareholder, who alleged KOM’s clients withheld certain shareholder income and benefits allegedly due to the former shareholder. Discovery revealed that the former shareholder had, in writing, essentially relinquished his right to any further income from KOM’s clients, and Mr. Chapman filed a motion for summary disposition. After oral argument, the Court granted KOM’s clients’ motion in its entirety. The former shareholder did not appeal. Mr. Chapman represents clients in partnership/shareholder agreement litigation and other related disputes.
